Built Ford Tough: ‘Built Ford Tough’ is Ford’s logo and most of the time, it holds true. The trucks are known for being able to handle rough terrain, heavy loads and are often used on oil rigs and on farms where they are required to drive off road. Ford trucks are somewhat known for their use in St Louis construction jobs and by heavy workers which gives them yet another tough image that lends to their popularity.
The Ford F Series is without a doubt the best-selling truck in the world and has been for some time. As of June, sales had more than doubled those of the Dodge Ram, and topped combined sales of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra by some 10,000 units. Sales on the Ford F-Series are impressive, but considering the Fords long-lasting reputation, and ‘tough guy’ advertisement plan, it’s no real surprise. The F-Series was first manufactured in 1948, and is now on its 12th design with a new one coming up. The truck is available as a two door, extended cab, crew cab, or off-roader, and can be purchased with a variety of wheel layouts including rear wheel drive and four-wheel drive. With 7 engines ranging from the 3.5 L Eco boost to the 6.2 liter Boss V8, it certainly has a lot going for it under the hood. Specialty models such as the Ford F-150 Harley Davidson do differ, but most F-Series get 17/23 mpg, and have a starting

Ford trucks are also known for being durable with very few breakdowns over short periods of time. While they do break down, they are known for being reliable enough to be used as work trucks in St Louis. Most Ford trucks are used for long periods of time each day, especially in the work place.
Affordable For Companies: The average Ford truck is relatively affordable for a St Louis company to purchase, which is another factor that is lending to their growing popularity. While many Ford truck models are priced at right about the same cost as their competitors, they often offer higher performance and better warranty than those competitors. This makes them a good deal for companies and St Louis construction agencies who wish to get the best deal for their money.

Better Gas Mileage: Ford Motors spends roughly twice what any other auto-company does on researching fuel saving technology into their vehicles. Because of this, Ford trucks get up to 25 miles per gallon which is better than many of their competitors. Ford has introduced multiple energy saving engines and hybrids into their line as well as fuel economy systems that help to preserve gas while driving. Ford trucks today get roughly 10 miles per gallon better gas mileage than their predecessors 15 years ago!
American Made: Another reason for the growing popularity of Ford Trucks is that they are an American icon and are made in America. Ford was the first automobile company to mass produce vehicles using the assembly line and is still constructed in America. Added to their tough image and history, Ford trucks represent the American way of life, which is something that is hard to resist for most consumers. Purchasing a new or used Ford truck from a St Louis auto dealer is akin to supporting the American economy and it’s history at the same time which is something that most people are proud of. When these are factors are combined with the reputation, the quality of the truck and the gas mileage, it’s no wonder that Ford Trucks seeing increasing popularity from STL auto consumers.
Ford Explorer: Ford has always been popular, and that’s especially evident considering they have two of the best selling SUVs. The Ford Explorer sold 114,000 units in the third quarter, which, while the lowest on this list, is certainly impressive. The vehicle features built in terrain management, inflatable rear seat belts, brake locking, and cruise control. It won the ‘best truck in America’ award, as well as ‘best in technological design’ for it’s safety system. The Ford Explorer features four engine choices, three transmission choices, and is a 5 door full-size SUV. The Ford has a $28,845 MSRP and gets 17/24 mpg.
Ford Escape: With 178,000 models sold before the end of July, the Ford Escape is the best selling SUV in St. Louis. The Escape is a compact Crossover but features the same five door design as the Ford Explorer. It also features three engine choices including a 1.5 liter and 2.0 liter EcoBoost, as well as a 2.5 Liter Duratec. The vehicle only comes with one transmission option, which is a 6 speed F635 automatic. The Ford Escape retails for $22,545, with an average gas mileage of 22/31.

Ford Transit Connect: The base engine of Ford Transit Connect is a 169-hp 2.5-liter four while a 178-hp 1.6-liter turbo four is optional. Front-wheel drive and six-speed automatic are standard. It gives a mileage of 20 mpg in city and 28 mpg on highway and goes from 0-60 in 10.0 seconds. The 169 hp engine gives a top speed of 109 mph. With just a little extra power and fuel economy, the 1.6 liter is not considered a good deal by most buyers. The van has dual sliding side doors, choice of rear dual cargo doors or lift gate and seating for 5 to 7 passengers. It has a large interior volume and is significantly larger than the original minivan.
Ford Fusion: As one of the most recommended Sedans of the year, the Ford Fusion is definitely worth noticing. The car’s MSRP starts out at $21,706, and it usually gets some 22/34 mpg. The Ford Fusion has almost no cons with users reporting a roomy cabin, easy handling, and an attention grabbing body as just some of the great reasons they picked the car. The four door sedan is available with three engine choices including a 1.6 and 2.4 L Ecoboost l4 and a 2.4 L Duratec l4, three transmission choices, and a variety of high profile colors. The Ford Fusion also won the best midsize car for the money and the best sedan for families.
Ford E-Series: The Ford E-Series has been in the top five best selling work trucks for more than 30 years, and for good reason. The vehicle is available as a transportation or work truck, and features an extended or standard body option. The commercial version starts at $32,760 MSRP, while the extended Commercial starts at $33,660. Both models include a range of electronics for music, Bluetooth, and voice activated calling with a compatible phone, making it one of the most comfortable work vans on the market. However, with a tow rating of 5,000 pounds, the E-series is not quite as good for hauling trailers as the Chevrolet Express.
