Trucks – Work Vans St. Louis

Whether you are an independent contractor or a power washing company in St. Louis, if you’re looking into buying a truck then you want a good one. Most importantly, trucks have been one of the hottest selling automobiles on the market, with sales almost on par with car sales. While there are plenty of popular trucks on the market, three have been dominating sales.

Anyone in the St Louis area looking for a commercial vehicle can consider purchasing a truck or a van, but it is important to consider the price, quality, and durability of the modelbefore doing so. Usually the easiest way to find the best options is to look at the best selling models, compare them, and then choose the one that best suits your needs.

Best Selling Trucks in St. Louis

Ram TruckDodge Ram: With sales up nearly 30% from last year, it’s easy to see why the Dodge Ram makes this list. The truck itself has been under production since 1981 and is an enduring American classic. The current fourth generation model being sold new today is available as a 2-door regular cab, 4-door quad cab, 4-door crew cab, 4-door mega cab, and as a dually, making it perfect for both work use, and for families. With five different engines available including a Cummins diesel, and a Hemi, the Ram is heavy duty and hard to beat when looking for a durable, working truck and has been the ‘Texas Truck of the Year’ multiple times. 2013 models mostly come with a standard automatic 6-speed transmission, an average 17 mpg, and an MSRP starting at $23,600. Chevy SilveradoChevrolet Silverado The Chevrolet Silverado, which is also marketed as the GMC Sierra takes second and fourth place in the list of the most sold trucks of 2013, but with combined sales, still falls short of being the first place truck on this list. The 2013 Chevy Silverado has been manufactured since 1998 here in the U.S., but was already being sold some 30 years earlier in Korea. Despite their age, the Silverado is only on its second generation, and is already available in the 2013 and 2014 models. With five engines available ranging from 4.3 to 6.2 liters (horsepower 195-355) and three transmissions, the Silverado has considerably less in under-the-hood options, and fewer body options than the Dodge Ram, but is definitely holding its own with four, five, and six speed automatic transmissions. The Silverado has a max payload of 2007 pounds, an average gas mileage of 16/23 mph, and an MSRP of $23,590. Chevy Trucks St. Louis

Ford F Series TruckFord F Series The Ford F Series is without a doubt the best-selling truck in the world and has been for some time. As of June 2013, sales had more than doubled those of the Dodge Ram, and topped combined sales of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra by some 10,000 units. Sales on the Ford F-Series are impressive, but considering the Fords long-lasting reputation, and ‘tough guy’ advertisement plan, it’s no real surprise. The F-Series was first manufactured in 1948, and is now on its 12th design with a new one coming up in 2015. The truck is available as a two door, extended cab, crew cab, or off-roader, and can be purchased with a variety of wheel layouts including rear wheel drive and four-wheel drive. With 7 engines ranging from the 3.5 L Eco boost to the 6.2 liter Boss V8, it certainly has a lot going for it under the hood. Specialty models such as the Ford F-150 Harley Davidson do differ, but most F-Series get 17/23 mpg, and have a starting MSRP of $23,070.   Ford Trucks St. Louis

St Louis Work Trucks – Vans

gmc savannahGMC Savana: The GMC Savana takes fourth place on the list of best selling cargo trucks, and comes in multiple models designed for performance and fuel efficiency. The Cargo version of the van features 15/20 mpg, seating arrangements for up to 15, and a durable build. While not the most popular of models out there, it is regarded as one of the best built, which is something for most to consider. However, with low gas mileage, and a starting price of $30,970, it is not for those on a budget. Contact your preferred St Louis GMC auto dealer for a test drive today.    St Louis GMC Sales

Ford Transit Connect: The Ford Transit Connect includes a series of trucks labeled as wagons and vans, and runs from $22,000 to $25,000. With an average gas mileage of 21/29 mpg, and 5 to 7 passenger capacity, the trucks are perfect for lower budget companies looking for transit or light duty transport vans. Various models include features such as 6-speed transmissions, eco boost engines, manual folding mirrors, glass roofs, and leather-trimmed seats, making the series as versatile as it is affordable. Ford E-Series: The Ford E-Series has been in the top five best selling worktrucks for more than 30 years, and for good reason. The vehicle is available as a transportation or work truck, and features an extended or standard body option. The commercial version starts at $32,760 MSRP, while the extended Commercial starts at $33,660. Both models include a range of electronics for music, Bluetooth, and voice activated calling with a compatible phone, making it one of the most comfortable work vans on the market. However, with a tow rating of 5,000 pounds, the E-series is not quite as good for hauling trailers as the Chevrolet Express.  STL Ford Sales

Chevrolet Express: The Chevrolet Express is the best selling commercial van and is still holding strong so far this year. The van is available in three models with ‘work’, ‘cargo’, and ‘transit’ each included in the line. The average MSRP is right around $27,000, making it a little more expensive than some of the other options on the list, but with a max tow load of 10,000 pounds and a max carrying capacity of 4,372 pounds, it’s definitely capable of pulling its own weight. The Chevrolet Express is definitely the best selling work truck as of now, but any of the options on this list is a great one. Consider researching your needs, set a budget, and consider fuel costs before selecting a specific model. Looking up reviews, optimum conditions, and seating arrangements is also a good idea before purchase. With that in mind, you should have no trouble finding a great work truck or van to purchase.
